If you are interested in participating in R.L. Turner’s competitive Speech and Debate team for the 2008-2009 school year, there will be an informational meeting today at 2:40pm in L105. If you are unable to attend but would like to be involved please see Mr. Hollomon in the Black Box or Mr. Yowell in L105 after school Friday, May 30th, or Monday June 2nd.



Library will also be closed at 2:30pm today.



All library books and magazines are due. Please pay any overdue fees ASAP.



Yearbooks will be given out after school in front of the library. If you owe a balance, please have the payment ready!



Attention all RLT students! The National Honor Society will be offering tutoring sessions after school today and Friday to help prepare you for your finals. Please come to B109 after school and there will be help available to you.



Reminder to all new NHS inductees!! You have a meeting today after school in B109. Bring your $12 dues and your folder with you, as we will be discussing up-coming summer events.



All current NHS members who have signed up for the Field Day @ Riverchase Elementary on Friday please remember to be at the elementary school by 9am. You will need your student ID when you check in, so don’t forget it! Also check your email for some minor details about the events that day.



The RLT SYMBANY SHOW CHOIR presents a "Musical Showcase" Friday, May 30th at 7:00 p.m. RLT Auditorium. Tickets are $5. Come out and join us and hear Queen, Elvis, Sinatra, and some Spanish Delights!! Proceeds benefit the Choir Scholarship fund.



Kapela’s Italy travelers, remember your second payment of at least $200 must be mailed to NETC by Saturday! Also, let Mrs. Burton know when you apply for your passport.



Seniors, families, and friends - the Baccalaureate and Reception Honoring the Class of 2008 will be held at Valwood Park Baptist Church on Sunday, June 1 at 2:00. Seniors should meet in the church entrance promptly at 1:30pm.



Attention Student Council Members: Please stop by Mr. Walters’s room before you leave for the summer so you can verify your contact information on your applications.



Attention students: High School Summer School will be held at Newman Smith High School this summer. Session I will be June 16 - July 3 and Session 2 will be July 7 – July 25. The times are 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Buses will run and pick up at the nearest Elementary School to your home. Pick up a registration form in the Counseling Office. Tuition is $140 per semester course; $75 for Free/Reduced Lunch. Cash, M.O., or Check with driver’s license and phone number will be accepted. There is also a reduced rate for AVID and English Language Limited students. Turn your completed application to your counselor to be signed and a transcript will be attached. The Summer School Principal, Ms. Skruch, will be registering students at Turner next Tuesday, June 3 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. See your counselor or call Ms. Skruch at 972-968-5223 if you have any questions.





Attention Recovery Lab Students! The Recovery lab will be open from Monday – Thursday, June 16th-June 27th from 8:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. Students may work in the lab from 8:00a.m. until 12:00 or 12:00 until 4:00. If you have any questions please come by room A103.
